  • Real time “Histogram“ displays the last 100 barcode readings at the touch of a single icon

  • Adjustable warning and alarm thresholds

In-line Barcode Quality Inspection

Printing of perfect barcodes is an absolute requirement today for suppliers of package goods. Failure to provide printed products with barcodes that will not scan in the store often results in substantial fines, not to mention lost customers.

The Barcode Check option is a powerful tool for monitoring barcode quality on press at full speed, with very little effort.

It will allow you to ship finished product to your customers with confidence in the barcode quality.

Reads & Verifies Commonly Used Barcodes

The software automatically identifies the type of barcode and its orientation on the web. The system can read the following static barcode symbologies, in either ladder or picket fence orientation:

  • EAN-8
  • EAN-13
  • UPC-A
  • UPC-E
  • Interleaved 2 of 5*
  • Code 2 of 5* (Industrial/IATA)
  • Code 39*
  • Code 128*
  • Data Matrix Code ECC200

    * with some restrictions, dependant upon the variation used

       of this code

Super Easy To Use

Programming of barcodes is done quickly and easily as settings (centering of the barcode on the monitor, selection of a suitable zoom level, identification of the barcode type) are carried out by the system automatically.

Grading To ISO And ANSI Standards

The barcode quality is checked and graded in accordance with international standards:

  • ANSI X3.182-1990
  • ISO/IEC 15416 and ISO/IEC 15426

The analysis algorithm evaluates all criteria defined in the standards and also checks for bar growth. The system then assigns a grade to each individual criteria. The overall grade (in accordance with ISO and ANSI specifications) is equal to the lowest grade of any one criteria.

Histogram Display Of Inspection Results

The inspection results (coded text, barcode type, quality grade) are displayed on the touch screen separately.

In addition, the previous 100 inspections are graphically displayed, allowing the operator to immediately recognize trends.

User Defined Warning And Alarm Thresholds

User-defined warning and alarm thresholds can be set for the overall quality grade as well as individual criteria.

Whenever barcode quality falls below the defined quality thresholds, the system displays a warning or alarm message and triggers an alarm.
